Nekeas Tinto Joven 2017
Garnacha's reputation in Spain is rising thanks for the intense minerallity of the resulting wines. Top wine regions like Navarra have the privilege of being home of ancient Garnacha's bush vines, providing the backbone of many of the greatest Garnacha wines of Spain.
This wine is a great example of what the Spanish Garnacha has to offer, Made with 50% Tempranillo and 50% Spanish Garnacha from vineyards located on the north-facing slopes of the Valley of Nekeas in the DO of Navarra.
The two varieties are elaborated separately, the Garnacha on one side with a cold maceration for 5 days and a total vatting of 18 days, and the Tempranillo on the other side also with cold maceration for 5 days and a total vatting of 15 days. Mixing both grapes helps Tempranillo to increase its acidity and the levels of sugar, getting this great qualities from the Garnacha.
The result is a red coloured wine with some purples tones that offers aromas of black fruits and woodlands strawberries. In mouth we get a sweet and smooth beginning with a long and fresh finish.
