Botte Piccola 2017
In Italian there is a saying: “nella botte piccola c'é il vino buono” that means “the good wine comes from the small barrel” and it’s the equivalent of saying in English: “good things come in small packages”, this is the origin of the name, Botte Piccola (small barrel).
This wine is made from a blend of different grapes of the Indicazione Geografica Protetta (Protected Geographic Indication or known as IGP) Rubicone, that allows the use of the different red grapes grown at the Emilia-Romagna Region. This blend of grapes from Rubicone is known as RUBICONE ROSSO or RED RUBICONE, using Sangiovese as the main character in the mix. This Sangiovese blend is aged in large barrels for a year and then in small French Oak barrels for six months, giving you another hint of why it´s called "Botte Piccola" (Small Barrel).
The colour of this wine is an intense red with some shades of purple. In your nose you can get some red berries and raisings and in your mouth is easy to get notes of cocoa, liquorice and Cinnamon. The great structure of this wine makes it easy to pair with strong flavours like truffle, seasoned aged cheese.
