Los Tintorros (mixed case)
In Spain, red wine is called "Vino Tinto" and when you invite someone to drink a glass with you you can say "Nos echamos unos Tintorros?". So we came up with the idea of creating "Los Tintorros" with a selection of different red wines we have from Spain.
In this pack you'll find:
- 1 bottle of Abando Crianza 2015
A Crianza wine from Rioja with a peculiar combination of grapes: 95% Tempranillo and 5% of Viura. Not only there is a game of grapes, there's also a combination of diferent oaks in the process of aging, with 12 moths of aging in American oak barrels and 3 months more in brand new French oak Barrels. The result, a great combination of wooden aromas that ignites the room as soon as you open the bottle.
- 1 bottle of Santalba Reserva 2009
A great chance to get a Reserva from Rioja. In Rioja there it's a tradition always to cellar and age the wines for you, classifying the wine according to the aging, a Reserva Classification is the second highest classification in Rioja and it means the wine was aged for at least one year in a barrel (in this case American Oak) and at least 2 years cellared in special Bodega conditions for at least 24 months. The wine maker selected the best grapes for this Reserva and this Vintage was classified as Excelent by Rioja DO. A great wine to add to your cellar and enjoy in a special occasion.
- 1 Botlle of Santalba Seleccion 2017
The signature wine of Bodegas Santalba, this is a 100% Tempranillo wine aged for 6 months in American Oak Barrels, nice, fresh, easy to drink and with aa medium-strong body tipical from Rioja's Tempranillos.
- 1 Bottle of Santalba Cotas Altas 2015
In Bodegas Santalba, you can also find Garnacha grapes, one of the oldest cultivated in this Bodega. This wine offers a blend of 60% Tempranillo and 40% Garnacha, both manually harvested and selected from the vineyards located at the highest altitude of the Bodega, that's why the wine is called "Cotas Altas".
- 1 Bottle of Vina Magna Barrica 2016
Away from Rioja, the second most important region of Spain is Ribera del Duero. This great wine is made with 100% "Tinto Fino" grape, as Tempranillo is called in this region, and as soon as you open the bottle and try this wine you'll realise why the grape has a different name, the resulting wine is strong with a very good structure, very different to the wines you could find in Rioja.
- 1 Bottle of Honor Negre 2018
Not that far from Rioja, from the DO of Penedes in Catalonia, Bodegas Jan Vidal is creating wines and Cavas Honor. Using a combinational of 40% Merlot and 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, different grapes identify the red wine made by this Bodega (known as Celler in Catalonia) going far away from the Tempranillo and taking advantage of the fresher locations of the vintages to grow different grapes.
