Viva Chile (mixed case)
We don't need to wait until September to say "Viva Chile", that's why we created a mixed case to enjoy Chilean wines any time!
Viva Chile! will take you to this great land, long and great land of Chile, where CARMENERE grape discovered its new home and wine is now a signature of Chilean culture.
We'll enjoy wines from one of our favourite wineries in Chile: Terra Noble (Noble Lane) a winery Located in Maule, where it was first established in 1993, and with vineyards located in Casablanca and Colchagua Valley, this last one considered by many as the "Napa Valley" of Chile. They have a great CARMENERE, one of our favourites from Chile, and their Riesling and Pinot are amazing choices too.
You'll get in this mixed case:
- 2 bottles of Terra Noble Carmenere Reserva
This wine is made from 100% Carmenere from the Colchagua Valley vineyards, aged in French and American oak barrels for 8 month. The Colchagua Valley is carved out naturally by the Tinguiririca River (easy to write but not to read), which flows down from the Andes Mountains from its headwaters at the base of the Tinguiririca Volcano and runs 100 km before emptying into Rapel Lake. The soil of this region gives a special minerality thanks to the nature of the water, coming straight from the base of this volcano. The result is a fresh, intense wine, with dark fruits like plum and cherry combined with notes of mocha and spices on the nose. In the mouth the tannins are round with a final touch of chocolate. We love to drink this wine in winter, it reminds us the views of the Andes from Santiago.
- 2 bottles of Terra Noble Pinot Noir Reserva
This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes also from Colchagua Valley vineyards, with 25% of the wine aged in American and French oak barrels. Its profile of aromas has notes of red fruits like raspberries and cherries with subtle touches of smoke. In the mouth it is a fruity, fresh wine, with very soft tannins, a good acidity and finish. Interesting choice if you like Pinot Noir, you can see how the Andes Terroir influence the character of Pinot Noir in this wine.
- 2 bottles of Terra Noble Riesling/Sauvignon Blanc Gran Reserva
This is a white wine for winter. It's made from a blend of 70% Riesling, 30% Sauvignon Blanc from Casablanca Valley, aged in French oak barrels for 3 to 5 months and at matured in the bottle in the cellar for at least 1 year. When you talk about white wines from Chile, Casablanca Valley is your choice, located only 30 km from the Pacific Ocean at its furthest point, it's strongly influenced by the cooling effects of the Humboldt Current, which flows up the west coast of Chile from the Antarctic. This cool weather is perfect for Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling. The result is this great wine, with Riesling notes of flowers and honey coming together with the tropical fruit and notes of citrus of the Sauvignon Blanc, making for a truly authentic wine. In the mouth, it is concentrated and acidic, with a nice mineral finish.
