Nekeas Blanco 2018
A great blend of 40% Viura and 60% Chardonnay from the emerging and trending DO of Navarra.
Even if the wines from Navarra are getting trending now, they're not new. The first records of winemaking in the region date back to ancient Roman times, but grapes were almost certainly thriving here long before that. Located next to Rioja Region, it gives a sample of all the different weathers and soils that you could find in Spain, giving a great variety of wine grapes and a lot of freedom to the winemakers to play with these grapes and create fantastic and fine wines.
Bodegas Nekeas has a privileged location in Navarra, with a valley that offers extraodinary conditions to grow their vineyards. One of the areas chosen for the location of the Viura vineyards are the south-eastern slopes of the Valley of Nekeas with poor soils that yield small grapes, rich in aromas and with high sugar levels. The Chardonnay vineyards used for this wine are located on the floor of the Nekeas Valley, whose acidity provides the blend with outstanding balance.
The resulting wine is a light straw greenish in colour with appealing aromas of lemon and pineapple coming straight to your nose. In the mouth produces an in-mouth sensation of freshness and purity with a vibrant finish, a great and fresh medium-bodied white wine that expresses the character of the Spanish Chardonnay that grows in Navarra.
